Papillon Resort has been part of Chaweng since 1991, with just 23 bungalows set through tropical gardens at the quieter northern end of the beach. It feels very different from the larger resorts further south, with a more intimate layout and wide views across Chaweng Bay towards Matlang Island.

Accommodation ranges from 35 sqm garden bungalows to larger sea-view suites and family options. The Family Suite has three separate bedrooms and space for up to six guests, while the 80 sqm Sea View Suite works well for families or two couples. Every bungalow has its own terrace, air conditioning, Wi-Fi and the usual in-room essentials.

The pool sits close to the sea and includes a Jacuzzi and separate baby pool, while massages and body treatments are available beside the beachfront. The restaurant and bar overlook the lagoon and Chaweng Bay, serving Thai, Asian and international food throughout the day, with room service available for guests who prefer to stay put.

Papillon is around five minutes by car from central Chaweng and roughly fifteen minutes from Samui Airport. It suits travellers who still want easy access to Chaweng but prefer a smaller resort with gardens, sea views and a bit more breathing room.
