As our platform continues to grow, we've recently introduced some important changes to the way business information is displayed across our directory.
We'd like to explain what's changing, why we've made these adjustments, and what they mean for you.
Why Are Some Business Listings Now Showing Less Information?
You may have noticed that certain business profiles no longer display their usual descriptions, photographs, contact information or website links.
First of all, we'd like to apologise to our regular visitors and businesses for any inconvenience or disruption this may cause.
As part of our commitment to responsible business representation, privacy and verification, we've updated our listing policies to ensure businesses have greater control over the information published about them.
Under these updated policies, businesses must now claim and verify their listings before we display their full profiles and promotional information.
This means that some previously detailed listings will temporarily display only the business name, category and an option for the business owner to claim the listing.
We appreciate that this may make finding certain information a little less convenient, particularly for visitors who have become accustomed to using Samui Unlocked to explore the island.
We genuinely appreciate your understanding while we make these improvements.
What Does This Mean for Visitors?
The good news is that Samui Unlocked remains fully operational, and our mission hasn't changed.
You can still browse our directory, discover local businesses, explore events, find promotions and learn more about what's happening around Koh Samui.
The main difference is that full business information is now available only for businesses that have claimed and verified their profiles.
This helps us ensure that the businesses featured in our directory have an opportunity to review, manage and approve the information displayed about them.
As more businesses claim their listings, more complete profiles will become available again.

Claiming, verifying and managing your standard business listing is completely free, with no obligation to purchase additional services.
Once verified, you can update your profile, provide accurate business information and choose how your business is presented to visitors.
Optional promotional services, including featured placements, advertising, Marketplace opportunities and additional exposure packages, are also available for businesses looking to reach a wider audience.
These services are entirely optional.
If you prefer not to have your business included in our directory, you can also request corrections or removal at any time.
